Former NFL quarterback and current TV analyst Mark Sanchez was hospitalized and later arrested after a bizarre and violent encounter in downtown Indianapolis early Saturday morning.

According to reports, the altercation began when Sanchez allegedly assaulted a worker delivering cooking oil to a hotel and resulted in the retired football player being stabbed multiple times.

According to the affidavit, officers were summoned to Loughmiller’s Pub and Eatery around 12:30 a.m. They found that Sanchez was suffering from several stab wounds to his upper torso. In an alley between two hotels, a 69-year-old man was also found with a cut on his cheek. First responders rushed Sanchez to a local hospital, and when he was asked about the situation, he reportedly told investigators he couldn’t remember all the details of what had happened.

Two Florida men were taken into custody and charged after allegedly stealing over 7,000 pounds (about the weight of an elephant) of used cooking oil from a restaurant.

According to the authorities, there has been a recent influx of thefts of used cooking oil around the United States. Cooking oil is considered a valuable commodity since it can be used to make many items, such as biodiesel and personal care products.

Just after 3:00 AM on October 6, a deputy from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office was on patrol when they reportedly saw suspicious activity in the back of Woody’s Bar-B-Que restaurant in Palm Coast.
