A New York man with more than two dozen warrants for similar criminal acts was arrested in early November for allegedly stealing from stores in the same shopping center over a period of several months.

The Van Rensselaer Square Shopping Center in North Greenbush, New York, is home to a variety of national and local stores and restaurants. It offers shoppers a spot to enjoy a meal, obtain beauty services, and a variety of retailers from which to shop. According to reports, beginning in June, several establishments reported that they had been burglarized. The North Greenbush Police Department began investigating, and they reported that, during an approximate five-month period, the same suspect appeared to be involved in at least nine burglaries.

Additional law enforcement agencies, including the Capital Region Crime Analysis Center, joined the investigation. Using the collected information, they were able to identify the person they believed was responsible for the alleged burglary spree. When they looked into the history of the 40-year-old man, who was reported as being from Albany, the authorities found that he had 30 warrants for cases throughout the Capital Region.
