A southwestern Indiana woman may face multiple charges after she allegedly swiped merchandise from a Dollar Depot and reportedly tried to hit one of the employees with her vehicle when they tried to pursue her after she left the store.

On the evening of November 13, a Dollar Depot store in Evansville was visited by a woman who reportedly caused the evening to become chaotic and potentially dangerous. The situation did not begin until she was leaving the establishment, and one of the employees thought they saw her carrying a phone charger and a charging block out the door without paying for them. One of the people on duty saw the woman enter the parking lot at the Sunoco gas station across the street, and he headed over to try to address the alleged theft.

When the purported offender allegedly spotted the Dollar Depot employee standing behind her car, she reportedly backed her vehicle up. When she put it in drive so she could leave the parking lot, the woman allegedly drove in the direction of the man, in what was interpreted as an attempt to run him over. She drove off, and the authorities were notified.
