According to reports, the Indiana Department of Child Services in Vanderburgh recently received a report about a situation involving the possible neglect of a 2-month-old baby girl in an Evansville home. The agency reported that they had many prior interactions with her mother and that all her children other than the infant had previously been taken from the home.
When DCS went to the residence and investigated the claims, they said they found the home was unkempt and unsanitary. When they wanted to check the baby’s body to see if she had any visible suspicious marks, the woman refused to consent.
