An elementary school principal and teacher were arrested when they were reportedly caught hosting a party with alcohol for over 100 underage attendees.

According to reports, on January 19, the principal of Roosevelt Elementary School in Cocoa Beach held a large party at her residence. She allegedly set out coolers filled with alcoholic beverages for her guests. The woman reportedly entertained over 100 individuals between 13 and 17 years old. A third-grade teacher was also reportedly in attendance, and she, along with the underage partygoers, was allegedly consuming alcohol.

Someone called the authorities to report the event, and officers from the Cocoa Beach Police Department went to the address. The outside of the house was dark, and the police believed the homeowner turned off the exterior lights to make it look like nothing was going on. They reported that they found an underage individual on the lawn who was so drunk that they needed medical intervention, and EMS was called to the scene to help. The police also noted that many teenagers at the residence were drinking, and the third-grade teacher appeared to be intoxicated. Nearby, an underage driver who was believed to be a guest at the party was arrested for DUI.
