A Delaware man was arrested on multiple charges last weekend after allegedly driving under the influence with five passengers who were injured when his vehicle crashed.
Late in the evening on September 26, a 27-year-old man was driving his Ford Edge in Greenwood. He had four passengers in the vehicle with him: a 27-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman from Milton, two 19-year-old men, and a 6-year-old. According to reports, he lost control of the SUV, and it veered off the road and rolled multiple times. When the authorities were notified, Delaware State Police troopers went to the site.
When the troopers arrived, the vehicle was found in a ditch. Two passengers were thrown from the SUV during the accident, and the individuals from Milton, who were still inside, were badly injured. They, in addition to the other passengers, were taken to the hospital. The driver did not go to the hospital, but medical techs treated his wounds at the scene.
