Teen’s THC Vape Purchase Led to Father’s Felony Charge

A Florida father is facing a felony charge after allegedly confronting a man he believed had sold a THC vape cartridge to his teenage daughter.

The incident began when the father returned home from a family trip with his daughter and noticed she was behaving oddly. She asked for money and walked to a nearby gas station. When she returned, her behavior still seemed off, and her parents questioned her. They concluded she had lied about her intentions and had purchased a THC cartridge. The father then checked her phone and found messages between her and the alleged supplier.

The father reportedly contacted the same individual with his phone and pretended to be a customer. He arranged to meet the person at a local gas station. According to reports, the dad drove to the location and parked behind the man’s vehicle. As the teen’s messages had indicated a drug purchase, the father began questioning the individual about whether he knew the girl. The man reported seeing a handgun in the father’s lap, causing him to think he was in danger.

The father reportedly told the man to drive home so he could follow him, claiming he wanted to talk to his parents. He allegedly threatened to harm him if the man refused. The man sped away from the gas station, reportedly ran a red light, and struck the car of another driver.

After seeing the crash, the father drove home and experienced what his spouse described as a panic attack. According to police statements, the couple discussed the incident and decided not to contact law enforcement because they believed he was not tied to the crash.

Shortly afterward, the daughter received a message from the alleged dealer saying her father would “go to jail for a long time.”

The father is now charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly brandishing a gun and making threats during the confrontation.
