Tiger Woods Arrested After Jupiter Island Crash

Tiger Woods was involved in a rollover crash in Florida on Friday afternoon, where the authorities said he showed signs of impairment despite registering a 0.00 on a breathalyzer test.

According to the authorities, the incident happened around 2 p.m. in Jupiter Island. A pickup truck towing a pressure-cleaning trailer began turning into a driveway when the driver noticed a Land Rover approaching at a high rate of speed. The truck driver was unable to move in time. The Land Rover attempted to avoid the collision but struck the rear of the trailer, and the vehicle overturned onto its side.

Officials said Woods exited through the passenger-side door. No injuries were reported for either driver, and no passengers were present in either vehicle.

At the scene, the authorities stated that Woods appeared lethargic and displayed signs consistent with impairment. While a breathalyzer test reportedly showed no alcohol in his system, he declined to provide a urine sample for further testing. The authorities indicated they believed the impairment may have been related to medication or another substance rather than alcohol.

Following the investigation at the scene, Woods was taken into custody and transported to a local jail. He was charged with driving under the influence with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test. Under state law, he was expected to be held for a minimum of eight hours.

The crash marked another in a series of past traffic-related incidents involving Woods, including a 2017 case in which he later pleaded guilty to reckless driving after being found asleep in a vehicle, and a 2021 rollover crash in California that resulted in serious leg injuries but no evidence of impairment.
