Two Men Busted for Multiple Drug and Gun Charges

Sheriff’s deputies arrested two men from north central California after they reportedly found them sitting in a parked vehicle with narcotics and weapons in the car.

Last weekend, deputies from the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office were patrolling in a residential area in Elverta when they noticed three people sitting in a car parked in a driveway, and they believed it looked suspicious. They decided to check things out, and before they got to the vehicle, the person in the front passenger seat got out and went towards the home. When interacting with the driver, they reportedly found out he did not have a driver’s license. The backseat passenger was identified as a 44-year-old local man, and he was allegedly found with a pipe believed to be used for smoking meth.

The passenger walked back to the car and reportedly told the deputies he put a bag of meth in the back of the vehicle. When they searched, they reported that they found a bag of something they believed was methamphetamine, in addition to paraphernalia.

The driver was not taken into custody but was cited for driving with a suspended license. Both passengers were arrested and booked into the Sutter County Jail. The front-seat passenger, who is being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond, is facing preliminary charges of possession of a controlled substance, felon in possession of a firearm, and an outstanding warrant from a different county. The backseat passenger may face charges of possession of unlawful drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance with two or more prior convictions. Three days later, he was released on a $20,000 bond.
