A Missouri woman was reportedly arrested after making a public appearance that led police to her while she was wanted in connection with a violent domestic case.
According to court records, the case involves two separate incidents that allegedly happened in Berkeley during the fall of 2025. Police say both incidents involved the same victim, the woman’s boyfriend.
The first incident reportedly took place in late October. Investigators allege the woman became angry during an argument after hearing her boyfriend mention another woman. Police say she allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed him in the arm. Afterward, the victim reportedly began recording with his cellphone, capturing visible injuries and the aftermath of the attack.
Several weeks later, police say another argument turned violent. According to investigators, the woman allegedly picked up a baseball bat and struck the same victim in the leg. The injury reportedly caused bruises. Once again, the victim recorded video that police later reviewed as part of their investigation.
After the second alleged assault, the victim contacted law enforcement. Police attempted to speak with the woman, but investigators say she refused to cooperate and told officers she had no reason to talk to them.
The case appeared to stall until January 2026, when the woman showed up at a Berkeley City Council meeting. Police say officers recognized her while she was attending the public meeting. Authorities reported that she drew attention to herself while raising complaints about police matters unrelated to her case.
Officers detained her in a hallway outside the meeting room and placed her under arrest.
The woman is reportedly facing multiple felony charges, including domestic assault and armed criminal action. She was first held on a $100,000 cash bond, but it was later dropped to $15,000.
