When a Florida couple got into a dispute over assumed infidelity, one of the women allegedly used a feline as a weapon against her girlfriend.
53-year-old Susan Freudenthal and her 44-year-old girlfriend have shared a home for the past four years.
On April 6, around 6:30 PM. Freudenthal and her significant other became engaged in a heated argument when Freudenthal’s girlfriend accused her of cheating.
Freudenthal tried to assure her girlfriend that she did not stray outside of their relationship, but the woman remained unconvinced, and the dispute continued.
The pair have pets in their home, and Freudenthal reportedly picked up one of their cats. The woman allegedly held the feline out in front of her and put it near her girlfriend’s face while telling her that she swears on the cat’s life that she did not have an affair.
The authorities were notified, and officers with the Largo Police Department went to the couple’s home.
When they arrived, an officer looked at the alleged victim’s wounds and purported that they were made by a cat’s claws.
When Freudenthal talked to an officer, she reportedly told them that she did hold up the pet near her girlfriend. It was reported that the woman said she was trying to swear on the cat’s life that she did not cheat on her significant other. She reportedly told the officer that the cat became annoyed by the act and scratched her girlfriend.
Freudenthal was taken into custody and booked into the Pinellas County Jail. She is suspected of misdemeanor domestic battery.
The police noted that Freudenthal, who expressed that she was the victim in the situation, was “polite and compliant.” She was released the following day on her own recognizance.
