Actor Zachery Ty Bryant is facing felony DUI charges for the fifth time after he was arrested last week in Oklahoma.
Early in the morning on October 25, officers in Custer County saw a man sleeping in the back of a vehicle. When they walked up to investigate, they identified the person as Zachery Ty Bryant. After talking to him, they decided to let the former Home Improvement star continue napping in his car.
It was reported that a while later, the police spotted Bryant’s vehicle being driven and performed a traffic stop. Bryant was reportedly behind the wheel, and according to body-worn camera footage, he allegedly admitted to the officers that he was driving the car while under the influence of alcohol and said he had been drinking since the previous evening. The footage also reportedly showed Bryant struggling during the roadside sobriety tests. When the police asked him to consent to a breathalyzer test to check his blood-alcohol concentration, Bryant reportedly declined.
He was taken into custody and booked into the Custer County Jail, and he is facing preliminary charges of DUI – Second felony offense, in addition to being cited for driving without a valid license. Sheriff’s office records indicate that he has been released.
According to reports, Bryant had spoken in the past about how his childhood fame gave him access to drinking alcohol from the age of 14, and that he believes he has a drinking problem. In addition to the DUIs, two of which he was charged with this year, it was reported that Bryant also has an extensive list of legal issues beginning in 2020, including assault, domestic violence, and theft offenses.
