Ex-reality television star Joshua Duggar is facing criminal charges for alleged possession of child pornography.
Joshua Duggar is the eldest of James and Michelle Duggar’s 19 children, and he was on the show with his family several times.
12-years after the incidents, Duggar admitted to sexually abusing five females, four of whom were his sisters, when he was 14.
Since the limit for filing charges expired before a criminal case was filed, Duggar was never prosecuted.
Though his juvenile records were sealed since he was a minor at the time of the allegations, someone leaked them to the public in 2015.
TLC took the family’s show off the air after learning about the situation, and several advertisers and streaming services stopped endorsing the content.
Late in the summer, Joshua reportedly cheated on his wife as a purported result of what he called a secret addiction to looking at pornography on the internet. He reportedly had an account on Ashley Madison’s online dating service that helps connect married people looking for affairs.
After an investigation, the authorities have asserted that Duggar had been using the internet to view illegal pornographic content since at least 2019. It was reported that they discovered he had downloaded material containing children under the age of 12. In some of the content, the youngsters were reportedly being sexually abused.
Duggar was jailed, and he is facing charges for one count of receipt of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.
On April 30, Duggar had a virtual court appearance and pleaded not guilty to the allegations. His defense attorney team reported that they “intend to defend this case aggressively and thoroughly.”
