Three women are facing charges after they allegedly became inebriated and viciously attacked a Delta Airlines security officer when they were told they would not be allowed to board the plane.
On September 22, Jordan Nixon, 21, Janessa Torres, 21, and 44-year-old Johara Zavala went to John F. Kennedy International Airport to catch a flight to San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The women were told by Delta Airlines that their flight was changed, and they would not be leaving until the afternoon.
While they waited it out, the women reportedly visited more than one of the restaurants and bars in the airport.
Nixon, Torres, and Zavala allegedly ordered and consumed nine alcoholic drinks before it was time to board their flight.
When it was time to get on the plane, the women went to the gate and allegedly started to behave aggressively. One of them reportedly refused to properly put on her face mask.
The captain of the plane was informed about the situation, and it was decided that the women would not be allowed to board.
Nixon, Torres, and Zavala were informed that they were banned from the flight.
A security guard came to assist with the situation, and he told the women they would need to leave. They reportedly got loud and started using profane language as they approached him. One of the ladies allegedly took the guard’s radio from him and hit him several times until he fell to the ground. All three women reportedly beat and kicked the man.
A Delta Airlines agent tried to intervene, and she was reportedly punched in the face.
Nixon, Torres, and Zavala were taken into custody, and they are facing federal charges for the alleged assault.
Both alleged victims were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
