3-Year-Old Found with 2 Kilos of Coke in Backpack

A mother of four in Alabama was arrested after the authorities reportedly found her 3-year-old wearing a backpack holding kilos of cocaine, in addition to firearms and additional drugs in her home and car.

On March 30, the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office was informed about a woman in Mobile who was allegedly in possession of a large quantity of narcotics. They were told she was keeping them in her residence, so they started to monitor the home.

When she left the house and drove off in her car, the woman was pulled over. Her vehicle was searched, and the deputies reportedly found 1.5 kilograms of a substance believed to be cocaine, an undisclosed amount of marijuana, and a gun.

Acting on a search warrant, her home was searched by narcotics investigators. They reported that the woman had four children, ages 3, 8, 10, and 15, who were in the residence without adult supervision when they arrived.

According to reports, they noticed the 3-year-old was wearing a backpack, and the authorities decided to look inside. They reportedly found approximately 4.5 pounds (about 2 kilograms) of a substance they believed was cocaine in the bag. A second backpack in the residence was allegedly holding two handguns and an additional kilogram of what was believed to be cocaine. The total value of the narcotics was estimated at $450,000.

The woman was taken into custody and booked into the Mobile County Metro Jail. She is facing several charges including four counts of chemical endangerment of a child, one count of trafficking cocaine, one count of second-degree marijuana possession, and one count of tampering with physical evidence. She was initially held without bond, but institution records show she has since been released.
