On the afternoon of July 19, a family who lives together in a Reynoldsville, Pennsylvania home was allegedly intruded upon by a man and woman who came into their residence uninvited.
The alleged home invaders reportedly believed the residents would be at the DuBois Regional Airport when they allegedly infiltrated the premises but ended up face-to-face with the inhabitants.
The suspects, later identified as 30-year-old Jeremy Appleton and Andrea Roton, 36, allegedly responded by frightening the family with threats in a purported attempt to keep them inside the home.
A 17-year-old girl in the family who lives in the home was present at the time of the event, and Roton allegedly attempted to bind her using a bra, but the girl was able to run out of the home when she struggled free.
Both Appleton and Roton allegedly ransacked the kitchen and made off with prescription drugs after snacking on food from the family’s pantry.
Appleton, who allegedly tried to leave the scene when the authorities arrived in response to the reported burglary, was apprehended nearby and taken into custody.
When Roton saw the police, she allegedly ran back inside and would not come out until an officer entered the home to retrieve her.
Roton is expected to face charges for felony burglary, felony terroristic threats, felony criminal trespass, misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking, misdemeanor unlawful restraint, and two counts of harassment.
Appleton has been charged for suspicion of felony burglary, felony criminal trespass, and two counts of misdemeanor driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
Roton and Appleton were booked into the Jefferson County Jail, and at their arraignments, they were each issued a monetary bail amount of $25,000.
