Child Porn Weighing Over a Ton Found in Florida Home

A Florida septuagenarian is facing multiple charges after the authorities reportedly found a huge stash (weighing more than one ton) of printed child sexual abuse photos in his residence.

In Ocala, Florida, a 72-year-old man who resides with housemates has reportedly regularly enforced a strict rule disallowing any of them from going into his bedroom or home office without him.

At the beginning of the year, a detective from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office traced an IP address that they said led to the man’s residence. The search was performed after the authorities were made aware of several pictures depicting child sexual abuse materials that were uploaded to the internet. The police believed the photos had been posted online by someone at the man’s address.

A search warrant was obtained, and investigators looked around the home and talked to the other people who were present.

According to reports, when the bedroom and office were searched, a massive number of boxes were found. The detectives reportedly discovered that the boxes were filled with hardcopy photographs of child sexual abuse material.

It was reported that the man also had a printer on his desk, and the authorities said it had been used quite a bit. In addition to the printer, a computer with a digital storage device was found in the office. The police confiscated them as potential evidence.

The suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Marion County Jail in lieu of a $250,000 bond. He has initially been charged with 25 counts of obscene material — possession of 10 or more child porn images, all felonies.

When the material allegedly found at the home was weighed, it was reportedly more than 2,600 pounds.
