Children’s Court Judge Charged for Child Porn Possession

A children’s court judge in Milwaukee County was reportedly found with several pornographic images containing minors, and he is facing many felony charges.

38-year-old Brett Blomme shares homes in Milwaukee and Dane Counties with his husband and children.

In April 2020, Blomme was elected to take the bench in the Milwaukee County Circuit Court as a judge in the children’s division. His term ends at the end of July 2026.

A few months after he began his term, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children was given an online tip indicating that a KiK user with the handle “DomMasterBB” posted a total of 27 pornographic pictures and videos containing youths.

When the authorities began investigating the information they were given, they reportedly discovered that Blomme’s name was listed as the account owner.

Using IP addresses collected by wireless companies, the authorities tracked down physical addresses associated with the dates of the claims. They asserted that Blomme was the person who posted the images.

Though some of the IP activity tracked to one of Blomme’s friend’s homes, the person reportedly provided proof that Blomme was at the residence when the incidents took place. He is not currently a suspect in the criminal case.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice acted on warrants and searched Blomme’s residences, personal possessions, chambers, and car for evidence that might link him to the allegations.

Their findings were not disclosed, but Blomme was taken into custody and jailed.

Blomme is currently expected to face seven felony charges for possession of child pornography, but it has been announced that additional charges are pending.

When Blomme’s attorney attended his virtual bail hearing on March 17, he and the prosecutor fought over whether a signature bond would be sufficient.

Blomme’s counsel asserted that with his family, friendships, and ties to the community he poses no flight risk. He also showed that many cases of a similar nature have had signature bonds, and said that his client should not be held to a different standard.

The judge ultimately decided in favor of the signature bond request. It was also decided that Blomme should be allowed to stay with his children since there is no indication there was contact with youngsters during his alleged offenses.

While he will be able to use internet-based services such as doorbells and voice-command devices, Blomme has been barred from using social media or any sites allowing content sharing. He is also disallowed from being in the presence of children that are not his own unless he has supervision.

According to the press release by the Wisconsin Department of Justice, each felony count is “punishable by a fine of not more than $100,000 or imprisonment of not more than 25 years, or both. Each charge also requires a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 3 years initial confinement.”

Blomme has not yet entered a plea to the charges.
