CSUN Student Accused of Multiple Sexual Assaults

A man who attended California State University Northridge was arrested on Friday after more than one person reported to the authorities that they had been sexually assaulted in encounters they had with the suspect.

19-year-old David Moreno-Jaime was a freshman at CSUN last year where he majored in business and played on the university men’s soccer team.

An investigation was opened after claims were made by several students who attend the university alleging that Moreno-Jaime had assaulted them sexually.

The assaults, which the authorities believe took place over the course of at least the past year, were reported by an undisclosed number of people and none of their personal details, including their genders, have been made public at this time. It was further reported that not all of the alleged attacks happened on the university campus.

Some of the allegations made by the purported victims included behavior such as Moreno-Jaime getting mad when one woman turned down his proposal for sexual intercourse, grabbing people’s bodies without their consent, and using intoxicants to entice others into sexual encounters with him. He was also accused of treating his girlfriend poorly.

On Friday Moreno-Jaime was arrested on the CSUN campus and he is facing rape charges.

Moreno-Jaime has been suspended from CSUN due to the accusations.
