After a reunion visit between two former neighbors, one of the women is facing charges for allegedly causing brutal injuries to her friend, including biting off a chunk of her ear.
Around 1:30 am on September 17, a man who lives in a downstairs apartment believed he heard a ruckus coming from an upstairs unit. The man became concerned when he reportedly heard what sounded like a serious dispute causing someone to cry out for help.
The neighbor notified the authorities about the incident, and when the police got to the location that the man reported they said it sounded like a woman trying to yell for help.
When the police knocked on the door in an attempt to find out what was going on, they reported that no one responded, but due to the perceived circumstances they felt they had enough reason to open and enter through a door that wasn’t locked.
After going inside and looking through the apartment, two completely naked women were allegedly seen lying on the floor of the master bedroom. Upon further inspection, the women were reported as being coated in blood with one of them donning bite marks and missing a piece of her left ear.
The paramedics were called, and the 48-year-old alleged victim told the deputies that she and the other woman used to be neighbors and ran into each other, resulting in her inviting the 44-year-old to her apartment for drinks. She reportedly stated that at some point while they were hanging out her friend tried to make unwanted sexual advancements towards her, so she decided to call it a night and went to bed.
The alleged victim said she awoke to her houseguest, who was reportedly naked, taking off the clothing she wore to bed. She also accused the woman of threatening her life, in addition to biting and choking her, when she allegedly made it clear she wasn’t interested in that kind of connection.
The injured woman was transported to Ascension-Providence Rochester for treatment.
The authorities asserted that the suspect was under the influence of alcohol or possibly drugs, and before she was taken into custody the woman was brought to the hospital for detoxification and assessment.
Following her release from the hospital, the woman was booked into the Oakland County Jail and she may face charges for assault with the intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, and attempted sexual assault.
