Driver Found with Hoard of Drugs After Failing to “Move Over”

When a man was pulled over for reportedly failing to comply with Florida’s “Move Over” traffic law, he was allegedly found in possession of a huge stash of narcotics.

Anthony Diaz is from Katy, Texas.

On May 18, Diaz was driving on Interstate 95 in Brevard County, Florida. He passed a deputy’s vehicle that was parked on the side of the road while the law enforcement agent was dealing with another driver.

In Florida, they have a law called “Move Over,” which instructs drivers to move over one lane when they pass any service or law enforcement vehicles on the side of the road. The law is intended to prevent accidents when these types of vehicles are present.

The deputy who was parked on the side of the Interstate reported that they noticed the vehicle drive by, and they performed a traffic stop.

The deputy interacted with the man, identified as Diaz, and reportedly planned to write him a ticket for the alleged infraction.

According to reports from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, the deputy came across a large quantity of drugs when he looked inside Diaz’s vehicle.

The Texas man was allegedly carrying an estimated 17 pounds of marijuana and 130 grams of THC wax. The substances were each reportedly packaged in smaller increments, and the deputy surmised that they were intended for sales.

Diaz was taken into custody and booked into the Brevard County Jail in lieu of a $30,000 bond. He is expected to face charges for possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of THC oil, possession of THC oil with intent to sell, possession of THC wax, and possession of THC wax with intent to sell.
