DUI Suspect Kicked Arresting Officer in Head

A Pennsylvania woman is facing several charges after she allegedly drove while under the influence of alcohol and left her car in the middle of the street, in addition to reportedly kicking an officer in the head when being arrested.

Early in the morning on September 24, the authorities were notified about someone who left their vehicle in the middle of the street. The callers said they saw the driver get out of the car and walk away.

Officers from the Perkasie Borough Police Department went to the location, and it was reported that the Honda was still in the road. The front tire was close to falling off, and they inferred that the vehicle had been in an accident.

The police saw someone walking away from the area that reportedly lacked coordination, and they believed it was the driver of the car. The officers reported that the woman, who was identified as a 45-year-old from Sellersville, did not stop when they tried to interact with her.

When the police got her to stop and talk to them, they believed she was carrying a set of car keys. It was reported that they could smell alcohol on her, and she displayed several indications of being intoxicated.

She reportedly refused to take a roadside sobriety test, and she said she had not been driving. When they tried to arrest her, the woman allegedly kicked one of the officers in the head. It was also learned that her BAC was .215.

The woman was taken into custody and booked into the Bucks County Jail. She is currently facing preliminary charges for felony aggravated assault and felony DUI in addition to misdemeanor simple assault, misdemeanor resisting arrest, misdemeanor operating a vehicle without ignition interlock, and driving on a suspended license. She was released after posting a $100,000 unsecured bail.
