A Florida man and his son were arrested for allegedly brutally attacking someone at a wedding and leaving them unconscious.
On September 3, a wedding was celebrated at the Granville Farms venue in Lake Helen, Florida.
Two of the people in attendance were a 38-year-old man and his 21-year-old son who have each been charged with violent crimes on various occasions.
A 36-year-old man was also at the wedding, and he reportedly encountered the father and son in the parking lot at the venue.
For reasons not disclosed, the related pair allegedly began savagely attacking the man. After he lost consciousness, they left the area.
When others went to the parking lot, the alleged victim was discovered on the pavement and horribly injured. The police believed he was almost killed during the attack.
911 was notified, and deputies from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office went to the location.
The authorities believed that the alleged victim was kicked and stomped on. The man was missing many teeth, and his face was disfigured and bloody.
After investigating the situation, the police determined that there was probable cause to support that the father and son were responsible for beating the man.
The authorities took the pair into custody on Friday evening. They are both expected to face charges for aggravated battery.
A few hours after he was booked, the dad posted a $100,000 bond and was released from custody. His son was released the following day after posting a $50,000 bond. Both suspects are legally required to stay away from the alleged victim.
The alleged victim is still in the hospital in serious condition, and it was reported that he will have to undergo several surgeries to reconstruct his face and a lot of dental work to fix his teeth.
