56-year-old Alcalira Jimenez De Rodriguez was a plastic surgeon at the Millennium Anti-Aging and Surgery Center in Miami.
In the middle of February 2020, a man visited the location seeking a corrective nose job.
Jimenez De Rodriguez reportedly performed the procedure, and the man said that there appeared to be complications while he was under the knife.
When May came and his nose still had not healed properly, and he felt the surgery had rendered him facially malformed.
The alleged victim discussed the situation with the surgical center, and he underwent a second procedure for which he was charged $800.
The man reported that Jimenez De Rodriguez provided him a prescription for pain medication, but it was written in the name of a different doctor.
The patient said it raised red flags, so he tried to obtain Jimenez De Rodriguez’s medical license number and insurance information, but it was never provided.
After hitting a dead end while trying to collect her information, the man called the authorities.
Police began looking into his claims, and they notified the Florida Health Department about the report.
When they were unable to verify Jimenez De Rodriguez’s medical credentials, the police asserted that she was practicing medicine without a valid license to do so.
On March 11, police visited the surgical center seeking to detain Jimenez De Rodriguez for the allegations.
When they arrived, they reportedly discovered that the woman was in the middle of performing a surgical procedure on a patient.
Jimenez De Rodriguez was placed under arrest at the scene, and she was booked into the Miami-Dade County Jail.
She is facing charges for suspicion of practicing medicine without a license, and Jimenez De Rodriguez is being held in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
