During a heated marital spat brought on by suspicions that he was cheating, a Florida man reportedly threw a box of chicken wings at his accusatory wife.
On April 9, just before 9:30 p.m., a man and his wife returned to their Wildwood home after attending a party together. The woman was upset with her husband when they arrived.
According to the arrest affidavit, she was convinced that he was having a sexual relationship with another woman. She added that she believed her husband had recently been communicating with the purported lover, and it caused an argument between the couple.
The woman snagged her husband’s cell phone during the dispute, and he allegedly responded by throwing a box of chicken wings in her direction. The box reportedly struck the woman causing the sauce to splatter on her.
The couple has a baby, and the woman went to the bedroom to get away from her husband and take care of the youngster. The man allegedly tried to block her path, but she pushed past him, and when she got inside, she locked the door.
Her husband allegedly tried to force his way into the room. She said he threatened to beat her, and it scared her, so she took the baby and went into the closet to hide. She also began recording the incident.
The police arrived, and an officer spoke to both parties. It was noted that sauce was on the woman’s neck.
After giving the officer her side of the story, her husband was interviewed.
The man reportedly confirmed the argument and the reason behind it and said when the chicken wings hit his wife it was by accident. He also said he did not threaten to physically harm her.
The man was cuffed and taken into custody. He was booked into the Sumter County Detention Center for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic assault.
