A doctor at a Florida medical salon was accused of giving two female patients alcohol and narcotics to sedate them before allegedly sexually assaulting them while they were undergoing procedures.
On October 22, a 51-year-old woman was a patient at the Pura Vida Medical Spa for a procedure called ultherapy.
She was given a prescription for Alprazolam, and the doctor told her that it would help with the pain she might experience during the procedure. When the doctor began working on her, he reportedly gave her laughing gas to further assist with the discomfort.
The woman reported that she was not fully coherent but she felt the doctor touching her inappropriately. When she asked what he was doing, he reportedly did not address her inquiry. She said he gave her additional laughing gas and some tequila to try to reduce the pain she was feeling.
It was reported that the patient fell in and out of consciousness, but during the times that she was awake she felt him sexually assaulting her.
On October 24, the woman reported the incident to the Naples Police Department.
The authorities received a second report about the same doctor, and on November 21, they met with the 72-year-old alleged victim at the Project HELP Rape Recovery and Victim Services Center.
The woman reported that she went to the Pura Vida Medical Spa for Cool Sculpting and that while she was having the procedure, the doctor had sex with her against her will. She said he gave her laughing gas, but she remained conscious the entire time.
Later that evening, the doctor was taken into custody at his office and transported to the Naples Police Department before being booked into the Collier County Jail. He is preliminarily facing charges for two counts of sexual battery to a physically helpless person. He is being held in lieu of a $200,000 bond.
It was reported that he is scheduled to appear in court on December 19.
