Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith reportedly insulted and threatened to assault officers as he was placed under arrest for allegedly driving under the influence.
31-year-old Geno Smith plays for the Seattle Seahawks, and he is currently a free agent. He has also played for the New York Jets, New York Giants, and Los Angeles Chargers during his career in professional football, which began in 2013.
Around 2:00 am on January 10, Smith was reportedly driving his Rolls Royce in King County, Washington.
Officers with the Washington State Police reported that they saw Smith driving unsafely and exceeding the speed limit by almost 40 MPH.
The patrol officers performed a traffic stop. When they began to speak with Smith, who they accused of traveling 94 MPH in a 60 MPH zone, he allegedly smelled like he had been drinking alcohol.
When they asked the man if he had been drinking, Smith reportedly disclosed that he had some wine earlier.
It was reported that Smith started to perform the exercises for a roadside sobriety test, but the authorities halted the test when he allegedly became too aggressive for them to continue working with him.
Smith was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI, and while he was at the station the authorities took a blood sample to determine his BAC.
The man, who refused to consent to blood and breath tests, reportedly threatened the police as they restrained his arms and legs to perform the blood draw.
It was also reported that Smith told one of the officers, “you have a little d***. You have little-d*** syndrome.”
Smith was incarcerated in the King County Correctional Facility, and approximately eight hours later he was released after posting a $1,000 bond.
When he gave a statement regarding the allegations, it was reported that Smith asked the public to wait until they learned all the details before they judged him.
