A man who allegedly committed a series of misdemeanor offenses over three weeks told police he felt harassed because they continued arresting him.
30-year-old Colin White is a homeless man in the Concord, New Hampshire area.
During the three weeks between May 5 and May 27, White had six encounters with the authorities for alleged infractions resulting in his arrest.
On the evening of May 6, White was reportedly at Whiskey & Wine. After he received the check for approximately $52, White allegedly tried to get out of paying. He allegedly left a Dunkin’ card, instead of money, on the table with the unpaid check.
Officers arrived at the restaurant and asked White about the situation. The man reportedly said that his friend was supposed to meet him and pay for the food and drinks.
White was taken into custody and released a few hours later.
About 12 hours after he was released from jail, White reportedly became the suspect of a second crime.
The authorities were notified when White allegedly spent 3-hours inside the Suds Appeal Laundromat without washing any clothing. It was reported that he was drinking alcohol while he was there.
One of the stipulations of White’s bail included being disallowed from consuming alcohol. White was arrested a second time.
Within 24 hours of his second release, White was allegedly asleep in the lobby of the Mennino Place Apartments without permission, and the police were notified.
When they interacted with White, the authorities reported that the man became upset and expressed that he felt he was being harassed by them.
The police asserted that White was very intoxicated. He was taken into custody when he reportedly blew 0.123 on a breathalyzer test.
On May 12, White was reportedly drinking Jameson at The Draft, and he allegedly dashed before paying the tab.
The officer that talked to White reported that she had interacted with him before.
When she talked to White about the allegations from The Draft, the man said he was never at the establishment. He was reportedly positively identified by a worker, and the officer placed White under arrest.
12 days later, White reportedly had a burger and two drinks at The Common Man and ran up a tab of approximately $30. Before he paid, White reportedly stepped outside and fell asleep on a bench in front of the establishment.
The employees located White and woke him, and the man returned to the restaurant. When he went into the bathroom, it was seen as an attempt to avoid payment, and the police were notified.
One of the officers who responded to the call reported that they had encountered White in the past. When trying to speak to White, the police reported that the man began to use profane language and resisted them. He was booked into the county jail.
On May 27, an officer was driving past the Manyee Restaurant and said they saw White outside. He said he was able to identify White from prior interactions, and he was aware of the fact that the man was accused of causing trouble in restaurants.
The officer watched White, who reportedly owed $22.00 for his check, and an employee return to the restaurant before he approached.
The man reportedly tried to go outside to smoke a cigarette, and the officer stopped him and told him to pay what he owed.
White allegedly told the officer he was going to smoke and tried to walk out. When the officer tried to hold him back, White allegedly threatened to smack him.
When the authorities tried to take White into custody, it was reported that he became physically and verbally abusive. White ended up with a bloody nose as a result of the scuffle, and he was detained.
White is facing many charges, including six counts of breach of bail, 3 counts of theft, criminal trespassing, simple assault, and resisting arrest or detention. He is incarcerated in the Merrimack County jail without bond.
