Hope Solo Found Passed Out Drunk with Toddlers in Car

Former soccer player and Olympic medalist Hope Solo was accused of driving under the influence after she reportedly passed out for over an hour in a running car while her children were with her.

40-year-old Hope Solo (AKA Hope Stevens) was a U.S. Women’s soccer player for 17 years. She won two Olympic gold medals. She has also been on Dancing with the Stars.

Solo is married to former NFL tight end Jerramy Stevens, and the couple, who reside in North Carolina, has 2-year-old twin boys.

On March 31, Solo was parked in the lot of a Winston-Salem Walmart in a vehicle with her children in the back seats. It was reported that the engine was running.

According to reports, someone noticed Solo’s vehicle and believed that the woman was passed out behind the wheel.

The Winston-Salem Police Department was notified, and it was asserted that Solo had been unconscious for over an hour.

When the police tried to interact with Solo, they reported that she was still passed out and they had to wake her up.

She began to speak with them, and the authorities alleged that Solo’s eyes were bloodshot and that they could smell alcohol coming off her.

When she was asked to take roadside sobriety tests, Solo would not consent.

Solo was taken into custody and processed at the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detainment Center. She is expected to face charges for DUI, resisting arrest, and misdemeanor child abuse.

When her attorney spoke about Solo’s situation, he disclosed that “she was released immediately and is now at home with her family, the story is more sympathetic than the initial charges suggest, and that she looks forward to her opportunity to defend these charges.”
