Man Accused of Assaulting Woman With Multiple Weapons

A Wyoming man was arrested after police said he threatened a woman with several different weapons on the night of October 10.

Deputies rushed to the home after a woman managed to call 911 for help during the argument. According to a police affidavit, the trouble started when a man accused the alleged victim of cheating on him. A video camera inside the bedroom recorded the audio, which reportedly captured the man pointing a handgun at her head and threatening to kill her.

The police report stated that the man later put the gun down and picked up a sword instead. The woman told officers that the man pointed the long blade at her and moved forward twice like he was going to stab her, though she was not actually injured. The audio tape picked up the what sounded like the blade dragging across a surface while the man yelled at her to get back on the bed.

Next, the man put down the sword and reportedly picked up a crossbow. The woman told police she saw a hunting arrow inside the weapon while the man pointed it at her, and officers noted that the crossbow was ready to fire.

According to reports, sometime during the incident, the man put the crossbow down, allowing the woman to grab the handgun and run outside. The man allegedly chased her, but she ran back inside the house, locked the door, and called 911. He reportedly broke back into the house and knocked the phone out of her hand right before deputies arrived.

The 45-year-old suspect is charged with felony aggravated assault and battery and misdemeanor domestic battery. He is currently being held in jail on a $50,000 cash bond.
