Man Arrested for Swiping Stripper Pole from Sex Shop

An Indiana man was jailed after allegedly trying to walk out of an adult novelty store with a large box containing a spinning dance pole that he reportedly did not pay for.

According to their website, Cirilla’s adult store has been in business since 1992, and their 60+ locations specialize in “spicing up sex lives since 1992 with an impressive collection of lingerie, vibrators, adult toys and romance essentials.”

On July 17, a store located in Muncie experienced an alleged theft attempt. A man reportedly entered the store during the evening shift and went to the section containing the portable dance and fitness poles. After choosing one of the models intended for spinning, he grabbed the box and reportedly headed for the exit.

A female employee noticed the man and believed he was trying to leave without paying for the product. She decided to approach him before he walked out, and she reported that the man allegedly shoved her and caused her to fall to the ground.

The authorities were notified, and officers with the Muncie Police Department headed to the area. They were able to locate the suspect shortly after he left the store. When his vehicle was searched, they reported that they found what appeared to be the swiped dance pole. They discussed the situation with the man, and he allegedly said he stole the pole but denied pushing the clerk. He pointed out that he couldn’t have done what she accused him of since his hands were full.

The 44-year-old man, who has previously been convicted on various drug and domestic violence offenses, was taken into custody and booked into the Delaware County Jail. He may face a charge of robbery if the prosecutor’s office chooses to pursue the case. According to official records, he is currently still incarcerated in lieu of a $22,500 bond.
