Man Caused Drug-Induced Mayhem on Wedding Night

An allegedly intoxicated Florida man was arrested after he reportedly caused a car accident on his wedding night and fled from the scene before the police arrived.

On August 20, 25-year-old Nicholas Ruthenberg and his fiancée were married at the Indian River County Courthouse.

After the ceremony, Ruthenberg was reportedly driving his vehicle down the wrong side of a two-way street.

The man allegedly smashed into another car. After the wreck, he reportedly ditched his vehicle and ran away.

When the police arrived, they searched the area and found Ruthenberg at an apartment building nearby.

Ruthenberg was apprehended, and he was taken to a local hospital to make sure he had not sustained injuries.

When he was taken to jail, Ruthenberg was reportedly making statements such as, “All hail Donald Trump.” He was given a battery of tests to determine whether he had been drinking.

According to the affidavit, the man was unable to complete the sobriety tests involving performing tasks. He was given a breathalyzer test, and his BAC was recorded as .000.

It was still assumed that he was under the influence of an intoxicant, and the police reported that they were able to get Ruthenberg to agree to a urine sample.

While the test was prepared, Ruthenberg reportedly dropped his pants and stuck two of his fingers into his rear end.

The police chose to place him in handcuffs again, and it was purported that he had taken a stimulant substance.

Ruthenberg is facing charges for suspicion of DUI and leaving the scene of an accident causing serious bodily injury. He spent two days in jail before he was released on a $2,000 bond.
