Man Hit Girlfriend During Fight About Christmas Tree

A man is facing domestic violence charges for allegedly striking his girlfriend during an argument about whether or not to buy a Christmas tree.

31-year-old Levi William Metcalf and his 36-year-old girlfriend share a residence in St. Petersburg, Florida.

On the afternoon of December 15, Metcalf and his significant other were at home together, and the pair was talking about getting a Christmas tree.

It was reported that Metcalf’s girlfriend was in favor of going out and buying a tree, but he did not agree with her.

According to reports, their opposing views sparked an argument between the couple.

While they were fighting, Metcalf allegedly injured his girlfriend, and she called the police to report the problem.

According to the arrest report, officers had already gone to the couple’s home that day, and after the woman’s call, they returned a second time.

The alleged victim said that Metcalf purposely used his elbow to hit her in the right side of her face. It was noted that there was “visible swelling” in the area that the woman claimed she was struck.

When the police interacted with Metcalf, they noted that he appeared as if he had been drinking.

The man reportedly admitted that his elbow hit his girlfriend’s cheek, but he said he did not do it on purpose, and it was an accident.

Metcalf was placed under arrest and booked into the Pinellas County Jail. He is expected to face charges for misdemeanor domestic battery.

Upon Metcalf’s release from custody, he was ordered to stay away from the alleged victim. He is also required to wear a device that will show his location at all times.
