In the early morning hours of November 9, an 18-year-old man and his 20-year-old brother were at home in Sebastian, Florida. They reportedly got into an argument, and it was believed to have started over something to do with their PlayStation console.
The authorities were notified about the situation, and officers from the Sebastian Police Department went to the address to investigate. When they got there, they decided that they were not needed, and it was just a dispute between brothers.
It was reported that the officers started walking back to their vehicle when they heard a sound that they believed was a gunshot. The father of the arguing men ran towards them yelling about how one of his sons shot the other. At the same time, a man was seen running out of the apartment, and they inferred that it was the shooter.
The officers ran towards the man and caught him in a nearby patch of woods. They also found a 9mm handgun, and they believed it was the weapon used in the shooting.
The man was taken into custody and booked into the Indian River County Jail. He is facing serious charges of attempted murder, grand theft of a firearm, possession of ammunition or a weapon by a convicted felon, and resisting arrest without violence. He had an arraignment hearing on November 9, and he is currently being held in lieu of a $500,000 surety bond.
The suspect’s brother is still in the hospital, and it was reported that he is in the trauma ward in critical condition.
