Mom Tried to Relax Child by Giving Him Meth

The mother of a 14-year-old boy was arrested after the authorities suspected she had given methamphetamine to her son on more than one occasion.

38-year-old Cheryl Ann Asiq has a 14-year-old son and lives in Pasco County, Florida.

On February 12, one of his family members called and talked to the teenager. During their conversation, the person became concerned and believed he was hallucinating from drug use.

The person notified 911 so the authorities could check on the teen, and then spoke with Asiq about the situation.

According to reports, Asiq said she let her son have Xanax.

First responders dispatched to Asiq’s address and took her son to Trinity Hospital, but his mother did not accompany him. Methamphetamine was reportedly found in his system.

While the teen was in the medical facility, Asiq allegedly called him and instructed him to lie if anyone asked if she was involved with the drugs.

When Asiq was questioned about the situation, she reportedly told the authorities that the boy must have done the meth while she was showering.

According to reports, Asiq later said she did provide her son with meth. She allegedly admitted she gave him the drugs on three different occasions. The boy’s mother allegedly told the authorities that she thought the meth would relax him.

The authorities believe that Asiq assisted her son with using the drugs by holding a piece of foil and using a lighter to heat the substance for him while he used a straw to inhale the vapor.

Asiq was placed under arrest and booked into the Land O Lakes Jail. She is facing charges of three counts of aggravated child abuse and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
