A North Carolina family’s trip home from Florida ended in a frightening crash after the authorities said another driver deliberately forced their SUV off the highway during an alleged road rage incident.

According to investigators, the family had been traveling together on Saturday evening when a confrontation escalated on a Florida roadway. Deputies alleged the suspect repeatedly harassed one of the vehicles before turning his attention to a second SUV carrying a man, his wife, and their young child.

The authorities said the driver allegedly threw objects at the SUV, repeatedly slammed on his brakes, and made erratic gestures while driving. Investigators further alleged he intentionally used his vehicle to perform a PIT-style maneuver, sending the family’s SUV off the roadway where it spun into a barbed-wire fence.

A Utah woman was charged after the authorities said she forcibly took an 11-year-old boy from a neighborhood street and brought him to her home over an alleged bullying dispute involving her children.

According to court documents obtained by local media, the incident occurred in September 2025 in a Provo neighborhood. Investigators said the woman had been driving through the area looking for the boy, who she believed had been bullying one of her children.

The affidavit stated that the woman allegedly located the boy while he was riding his bike, blocked his path with her vehicle, and made him get inside. The boy was then allegedly taken to her home without permission from his parents.

The mother of a 14-year-old boy was arrested after the authorities suspected she had given methamphetamine to her son on more than one occasion. 

38-year-old Cheryl Ann Asiq has a 14-year-old son and lives in Pasco County, Florida. 

On February 12, one of his family members called and talked to the teenager. During their conversation, the person became concerned and believed he was hallucinating from drug use.

A man and his girlfriend have been accused of regularly locking a boy in a shed for extended periods without necessities and proper facilities. 

44-year-old Harry Richard Shoemaker, and his girlfriend, Jennifer Ann Hines, 36, reside in Arcadia. Shoemaker has a 14-year-old autistic son. 

The teen’s grandmother recently became concerned about the way he was being cared for, and she placed a call to DCF (Department of Children and Families) to see if they could check on her grandson.

An adoptive mother of four was criminally charged after she was accused of inflicting years of vicious abuse upon one of her children.

47-year-old Patricia Diane Hyler and her husband live in Pace, Florida with their four adopted children.

Hyler, who has experience as a teacher from working at Capstone Academy, and as a teacher at a church, has reportedly homeschooled the children for the past two years.
