A driver who reportedly had a negative reaction to a pro-vaccine sticker on a car allegedly pulled out a firearm and aimed it at the other motorist.
33-year-old Christina Blair lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Around 5:00 PM on February 27, Blair was driving when she ended up behind a male driver.
When they were both stopped at the intersection, Blair reportedly saw a sticker on the man’s car that read, “Vaccinated.” The woman allegedly started honking her horn and yelling profanities about his sticker. It was also reported that she threw something at his car.
When the light changed and they entered the intersection, the man driving the vehicle motioned with his hand for Blair to pass him.
According to reports, the encounter began to intensify, and the man tried to drive away. His car was reportedly accidentally knocked into reverse, and he crashed into Blair.
The pair went into a nearby business parking lot with the intention of trading information due to the collision.
When the man attempted to give his insurance information to Blair, she allegedly grabbed a handgun from inside of her car and pointed it at him.
The man called the authorities and reported that he was afraid for his life.
After the police arrived, the man showed them a video of a woman retrieving the gun from her vehicle and pointing it in his direction. It reportedly appeared as if she cocked the weapon, and it was purported that Blair was the person in the recording.
According to the affidavit, Blair was informed of her rights as she was placed in handcuffs, but she still chose to speak about the situation.
The woman reportedly told the police that she was offended by the “Vaccinated” sticker on the alleged victim’s vehicle and admitted to honking and yelling at him. She also allegedly said that the object that was thrown at the man’s vehicle was a water bottle.
Blair reportedly said that the reason she pulled out the gun was that she became frightened that the man might harm her, and she was unable to escape.
The authorities determined that Blair was not prevented from leaving the scene.
Blair, who has at least one prior conviction for an aggravated assault-related offense, was booked into the Bernalillo County Jail without bail. She is expected to face charges of felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
