A man without permanent housing reportedly walked up to a stranger inside a New York City subway station and smeared feces all over her.
37-year-old Frank Abrokwa is a man who does not currently have a fixed address.
Around 5:00 PM on February 21, a 43-year-old woman was seated on a bench in a subway station.
While she awaited her train, a man with a bag in his hand reportedly walked up to her. The woman reported that she had no previous contact with him and did not provoke or invite him to approach her.
The man opened the bag he was holding, and when he reached the woman, he allegedly started to strike her over the head with it. It was reported that the bag was full of excrement.
The woman, who was holding her cell phone, let the electronic device fall to the ground so she could use her hands to try to block the blows.
It was reported that the assailant moved behind the woman and rubbed the contents of the bag on the top of her head before fleeing.
The authorities were notified, and the NYPD opened an investigation.
When they reviewed the surveillance recordings of the incident, the police reported that the entire attack was displayed in the videos.
They believed that Abrokwa was the person who assaulted the woman, and the authorities tracked down the man.
Abrokwa, who has at least 44 prior arrests, was taken into custody as the purported perpetrator of the dirty deed. He is facing charges of forcible touching, menacing, disorderly conduct, and harassment.
An MTA spokesperson said that the incident is “another example of why we fully support efforts by the governor and mayor to deliver essential mental health services to those who need them.”
