A Pennsylvania man was accused of stalking and threatening a co-worker through disturbing messages, unwanted physical contact, and repeated appearances at the person’s home.
The alleged victim told authorities that the suspect had grabbed them inappropriately on two occasions. The person also reported encountering him at their residence while preparing to leave for work.
During one of those encounters, authorities said the alleged victim discovered the suspect in the garage. The suspect allegedly backed the person against a wall before leaving through a side door.
The situation reportedly escalated when the alleged victim encountered the suspect at the residence again two days later, and the authorities said he managed to close the door before the suspect could enter.
The sheriff’s office said the alleged victim had also received Facebook messages from the suspect beginning in April. Investigators described the communications as sexually graphic, violent, and threatening. The messages allegedly included accounts of the suspect entering the person’s home and leaving after nearly being caught.
Deputies alleged that the communications also contained statements about the suspect’s intentions to go to the alleged victim’s home and rape them.
The allegations resulted in charges against the suspect for stalking, harassment, indecent assault, and two counts of criminal trespassing by entering a structure. The 33-year-old man was taken into custody by deputies and remained at the Westmoreland County Prison in lieu of a $2,500 bail.
The sheriff’s office said its Fugitive Unit began looking for the suspect after the Latrobe Police Department filed the criminal complaint. Authorities eventually located him at a hotel in Greensburg.
The authorities have not disclosed the specific dates of the alleged incidents. Court records show the suspect had a preliminary arraignment on August 31.
