Serpent Tempted Man to Illegally Enter Neighbor’s Apartment

A man who allegedly walked into his neighbor’s apartment without permission reportedly told the police that a snake told him to do so.

52-year-old Jessie James Terry lives in an apartment complex in West Monroe, Louisiana. According to police records, he has had several prior run-ins with the law.

Early in the morning last Wednesday, Terry allegedly went to the apartment of one of his neighbors. The man reportedly went to the back of the unit and tried to open the door.

Law enforcement from the West Monroe Police Department went to the address after they received notification of the alleged incident.

When the officer arrived, the alleged victim talked to them about what transpired. The resident confirmed that a man believed to be Terry tried to enter the apartment.

The authorities approached Terry about the allegations, and the man reportedly chose to talk to them about the incident.

Terry reportedly let the officer know that he had been using crack cocaine a short time before he went to his neighbor’s residence. According to the police report, the man had used drugs within an hour of the alleged illegal event.

Terry reportedly discussed the reason behind his alleged attempt to get into his neighbor’s apartment. The man allegedly told the officer that he had been instructed by a “big snake” to go to the woman’s residence and open the door.

Around 3:30 am, Terry was placed under arrest. He was booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center.

Terry is expected to face charges for felony unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, and misdemeanor disturbing the peace. According to the affidavit, an enhanced charge for attempt on a peace officer is being sought.
