A Florida man was arrested after being accused of stealing nearly $200 worth of merchandise from a Target store and allegedly had a sex toy fall out of his pants while talking to the police.
Just after 5:00 PM on June 19, a man from Palm Coast reportedly visited a local Target store to pick up a few personal items.
When the man went to self-checkout to ring up and pay for the merchandise, someone from the loss prevention department reportedly noticed him scanning the wrong price tags to score a lower price on his goods. He also allegedly wrapped items that were not paid for in other things to try to conceal them. The alleged thief walked out of Target with the products, and the authorities were notified.
Deputies from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office went to the location and saw the vehicle they believed belonged to the suspect. When they ran the license plate number, they found that he had an active arrest warrant in a different county.
The authorities searched his automobile, and they recorded in the police report that they found several sexual aids, a few pieces of clothing, and a small amount of food,
It was reported that he told the deputies those things were in his truck for several days, and that he planned to use them with his wife. While he spoke to the officers, a sex toy reportedly dropped out of his pants.
The suspected sex product thief was taken into custody and booked into the Flagler County Inmate Facility. In addition to the three charges related to the warrant, he is expected to be charged with one misdemeanor count of retail theft – shoplifting. The man is currently incarcerated in lieu of a $3,000 bond.
The store reported that the total of the items that were allegedly taken was $187.00.
