Six people have been arrested for allegedly keeping a woman they met online captive for almost a week and forcing her to endure horrific forms of torture and abuse.
Last November, a woman from Maine moved to Athens, Texas, to live with six individuals. It was reported that the woman became acquainted with the people online.
When the woman decided that she wanted to move out of the residence, her roommates reportedly went to immense lengths to keep her from leaving.
According to reports, her roommates kept the woman captive for nearly a week. While she was allegedly held against her will, the six people in the home reportedly subjected her to several forms of abuse and torment.
The alleged victim was reportedly attacked with several different objects including a cane, and sex toys intended for bondage. They reportedly required her to address them as “master,” and put out their cigarettes on her body. The skin on her hand was seared by a wax sealer, and the woman said the burn mark signified “disapproval.” Her captors also allegedly punched and spat on the woman.
Throughout her time as an alleged prisoner, the woman, who is reportedly in her twenties, was allegedly forced to consume cat feces.
On the evening of March 29, the woman was able to get out of the home, and she was seen walking around with visible injuries. The person who saw her became concerned and notified the authorities.
Deputies with the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office went to the location given by the caller, and when they found the alleged victim, it was noted that there was blood on her bruised and swollen face. The word “rape” was shaved on her head, and she had many burn marks and wounds.
The woman was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The people who reportedly live in the home were picked up by the authorities. They were identified as Felicity Emanuelle Walker, Summer Syler Lawrence, Breonna Cheyenne Johnson, Amanda Marie Andrews, Shayne Joseph Anderson, and Charles K. Bryant, Jr.
All six of the suspects were taken into custody on suspicion of aggravated kidnapping, and they were booked into the Henderson County Jail. They are each being held in lieu of $500,000 bonds.
