One of the stars of the classic film “The Sandlot” was arrested after allegedly smashing his neighbor’s Jeep windshield with a dumbbell, and later returning to the property with a knife in hand.
Thomas Guiry is a 42-year-old actor who hails from Toms River, New Jersey, and currently resides in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Guiry is most notable for the role of “Scotty Smalls” in “The Sandlot” which was released in 1993. He is still active in the entertainment business and has a filmography containing several well-known films and TV series.
It was reported that on June 2, Guiry had a combative encounter with one of his neighbors leading to the star’s arrest. For reasons that have not currently been disclosed, Guiry, who was not wearing a shirt, walked over to his neighbor’s place with a dumbbell in his hand. His neighbor has a Jeep, and Guiry propelled the piece of gym equipment at the windshield. He then went back home.
According to reports, a while later, Guiry, who was carrying a knife at the time, went back to the neighbors’ property. An argument between them broke out, and they believed they might be in danger since he had the blade. The authorities were notified, and after viewing the Ring doorbell cam footage, they arrested Guiry.
He was jailed in the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on suspicion of third-degree assault and battery, and malicious injury to personal property. According to reports, he was released the following day after posting a $1,000 bond. At his court appearance on Monday, Guiry, who pleaded guilty to the charges, was ordered to pay a $757 fine and received credit for time served.
