Suspect Beat Walmart Shopper with Sock Filled with Rocks

A woman who previously appeared on a reality television show as a child was arrested last weekend after allegedly attacking someone in Walmart with a sock filled with rocks.

On July 19, a woman and her grandmother were using a self-checkout station in a Walmart in Antioch, Tennessee, when an individual reportedly approached the younger woman from behind. It was reported that the person was holding what the grandmother believed was a sock with rocks inside of it. The individual reportedly grabbed the alleged victim by the hair and struck her with the makeshift weapon, leaving a bleeding wound above her eye. Before leaving the store, the suspect reportedly swiped the alleged victim’s iPhone and Louis Vuitton handbag. The authorities were notified, and officers from the Metro Nashville Police Department went to the location to investigate.

They began collecting information to try to identify the suspect, and the alleged victim’s grandmother told them she watched as the attack happened. They also collected and reviewed surveillance video recorded on cams inside Walmart. The footage showed the attack, and the police reported that the suspect appeared to be 21-year-old Diamond Tankard, who was on the Bravo reality show “Thicker Than Water” when she was a child.

The following day, officers tracked down Tankard. She was taken into custody and booked into the Metro-Davidson County Detention Facility. She is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and theft of property. It was reported that she was released the same day after posting a $25,000 bond.

The alleged victim, who needed stitches for her injury, estimated that the bag and phone taken from her were worth a total of $2,400.
