A Pennsylvania pair are facing charges after fentanyl, three pounds of methamphetamine, and an unconscious passenger were reportedly found in their car during a traffic stop.
On February 28, state police spotted a vehicle driving down the Interstate that they believed was not leaving enough distance between their car and the vehicle in front of them. They performed a traffic stop, and the driver was identified as an 84-year-old local man. It was noted that two women passengers were in the car – a 34-year-old in the front, and a 57-year-old in the back seat who appeared to be sleeping.
When they tried to wake her, the troopers reported that she had no pulse, and they gave her CPR until a team of emergency medical technicians arrived. Her pulse was restored through additional CPR, and she was taken to a local hospital.
The officers questioned the pair in the front seat, and they reportedly gave different statements about where they were going. They also allegedly found what appeared to be meth, fentanyl, and paraphernalia inside the vehicle, and an additional three pounds of meth in the trunk.
Both suspects were taken into custody and booked into the Centre County Correctional Facility. The man is facing preliminary charges of one felony charge of manufacturing, delivering or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, one charge of following too closely, one charge of possessing a controlled substance, and one charge of possessing drug paraphernalia. The woman is also facing one felony charge of manufacturing, delivering or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, one charge of possessing a controlled substance, and one charge of possessing drug paraphernalia.
It was reported that the woman found in the back of the car passed away, and the suspects may face additional charges.
