A man in the Navy was arrested at a hotel in Florida for allegedly striking his girlfriend in the face several times after a dinner celebration for his promotion to Chief petty officer.
On the evening of October 6, a 36-year-old man who had recently been promoted to Chief petty officer in the United States Navy was attending a dinner party in his honor at the Doubletree Hotel in Jacksonville. His girlfriend reported that they arrived at the soiree around 5:00 p.m., and the couple rented a room for the night.
Just after midnight, while the pair was in their hotel room, they reportedly got into a verbal dispute. A man walking past the door reportedly heard the woman yelling for help, and he knocked until he was let in. He reportedly spotted the woman on the floor and helped her get downstairs so she could call the authorities.
