Last week, a Montana man with four prior convictions for driving under the influence was arrested a fifth time with a blood-alcohol concentration close to four times the legal limit.

Late in the afternoon on May 5, a 58-year-old man was driving a Chevy Equinox in Seeley Lake, Montana, when something caused him to stop his vehicle in the center of a local intersection, and another motorist spotted him as they were driving past. The other driver stopped to check on the situation and reportedly found the man hunched over the steering wheel. He spoke to the man, who said he did not need assistance, but he notified the authorities to inform them about the situation.

The fire department went to the scene to see if the man needed medical help, and they were met by a deputy from the Missoula County Sheriff’s Office. The driver told them he did not need their help, and allegedly said he had too many alcoholic beverages. The deputy noted that he appeared to display several signs of intoxication, and the man reportedly performed poorly when he was given a standardized field sobriety test. In Montana,  a law regarding implied consent states that a suspect must allow them to perform chemical tests. While they did not obtain his BAC at the scene, they administered a breath test at the detention facility and reported that it displayed a result of .31.

A Pennsylvania mother was suspected of driving under the influence with her 4-year-old in the car, and when the police interacted with the child, he allegedly handed them a bag of drugs and said he was hiding medicine.

On the afternoon of June 18, a 33-year-old woman from East McKeesport was driving a Chevy Equinox in Allegheny County with her 4-year-old son as a passenger. She reportedly stopped and got out of the vehicle, and then climbed back in.

A concerned citizen saw the occurrence, and they called the authorities to report it. Officers were dispatched to the area to search for the vehicle and investigate the situation.

A Pennsylvania man who was reportedly found passed out behind the wheel allegedly dragged an officer over four yards with his vehicle while trying to escape.

Early in the morning on October 4, an officer with the Penn Hills Police Department was alerted by a tow truck driver about a car accident. The tow truck driver reported that a Chevy Equinox had veered off the road.

The officer located the vehicle nearby. He reportedly saw the driver behind the wheel with the engine turned on and assumed that the man was asleep.

Just before 9:30 pm on March 6, Phillips was reportedly the passenger in a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Kyleigh Bartley. The car in which the pair were traveling was allegedly stolen.
