A man in southeastern Ohio was arrested at the beginning of December after an alleged mishap during a banking transaction resulted in his being accused of sending methamphetamine through a drive-thru tube.

According to reports, on December 3, an individual in a truck pulled up to a drive-thru at a bank in Woodsfield. The driver, described as a 46-year-old local man, loaded the air tube and sent it through to the teller. When it was received and opened, bank employees alleged that the tube contained more than just the items needed for his transaction. It was reported as being a small plastic bag with something inside that looked like a narcotic substance.

After the authorities were notified about the situation, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office started an investigation. It was concluded that the item was likely placed in the tube by the suspect accidentally. When they tested the contents, the authorities reported that it showed positive results for methamphetamine. Law enforcement believed they knew the identity of the man who made the allegedly illicit deposit, and they began looking for him.

An Illinois woman who was arrested on drug charges last year was taken into custody last week for multiple additional narcotics-related offenses.

According to reports, last year on March 11, a woman who was the postmaster of Gallatin County was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine (Class 3), and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia (Class A). The 36-year-old woman, who lives in New Haven, was scheduled to appear in court last week regarding those charges. A day before her court date, she found herself again accused of drug-related crimes.

Early in the morning on March 10, the woman was reportedly driving a vehicle without a visible license plate in Mt. Vernon. She caught the attention of officers from the Mt. Vernon Police Department, and they allegedly saw her make a turn without using her signal. They performed a traffic stop, and the woman pulled over without incident.
