A man who was reportedly miffed about the high price of cigarettes at a convenience store in Georgia is facing serious charges after allegedly telling the employees that he was going to murder them.

The price of tobacco products has risen exponentially over the past decade, leaving many smokers on the hunt for deals and bargains. On the evening of July 27, employees at a convenience store in Coffee County were approached by a man who believed the business advertised that they were selling cigarettes for $6. When he learned they actually cost double, he reportedly became angry and argumentative. The man walked out, but he reentered the store and reportedly resumed yelling at the clerks. After leaving a second time, he allegedly walked back in with a weapon and threatened to shoot the pair of employees.

The authorities were notified, and deputies from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office went to the location and spoke with the individuals present during the incident. They viewed footage from the surveillance camera, and they believed they were able to identify the suspect, who has an extensive history of prior criminal charges.
