A North Texas woman is facing serious charges after allegedly orchestrating a plan to murder her ex-husband with chocolates laced with fentanyl.
A few months ago, someone called the authorities and said they got a call from an individual who told them she was going to kill her ex-husband with fentanyl. As a result, on May 30, an investigator with the Parker County Special Crimes Unit was part of a sting operation at the Scottish Motel in Weatherford in an effort to intervene. According to reports, someone identified as a woman from Coleman went to the hotel room with the alleged intention of buying fentanyl but was unaware the undercover agent was posing as the seller. After the alleged transaction, the investigator left, and the police were waiting to arrest the woman.
Upon further investigation, the authorities learned that her divorce was finalized in 2019. Her ex-husband, who is engaged to be married to another woman, reported that his former wife has been upset since they parted ways. The woman allegedly planned to lace a box of chocolates with fentanyl and make it look like a travel agency sent it to him.
